Among the Spider-Man villains made by Sony, Venom is a big player. Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man is the perfect opponent for him to take on in Venom 3. Hardy played Eddie Brock in Venom, which came out in 2018. He reprised the role in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which came out in 2021. The specifics of Venom’s film series being outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have so far kept him from having a fight with Spider-Man. Venom is one of Spider-most Man’s well-known and popular villains.
Spider-man: No Way Home Didn’t Set This Up.
It started with the end of Let There Be Carnage, when Eddie and Venom were sent to the MCU. Venom saw Tom Holland’s Spider-Man on TV, and Eddie saw Venom. However, Spider-Man: No Way Home didn’t set this up. Eddie and Venom were sent back to their own world after a short time in the MCU, so this didn’t work out. It’s true that there are a lot of Spideys in the Multiverse, but Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker has a lot of advantages to be the Spidey Hardy’s Venom is linked to.
Spider-Man: No Way Home, like Hardy, is a movie that takes place in many different universes. Garfield, on the other hand, is one of the heroes of the movie, along with Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men. To make a meeting between Spidey and Venom happen, Garfield’s Spider-Man would be a Sony version of the character, so there would be less work to do than with Holland’s version. There’s also a lot of support for the idea of Garfield coming back after No Way Home.
The Amazing Spider-man 3.
Following the release of No Way Home, fans have started to ask Sony to bring Garfield back to The Amazing Spider-Man 3. As of now, Sony hasn’t announced any more Spider-Man movies with Garfield in them. The Multiverse shown in No Way Home, as well as Garfield’s return in the film, makes non-MCU Spider-Man movies possible for Sony. Garfield’s return could allow Sony to build a Spider-Man universe like the one The Amazing Spider-Man 2 couldn’t get off the ground. Sony already has a lot of Marvel projects in the works, including Morbius and Kraven the Hunter.
Garfield making a cameo in Venom 3 could be a way for his Spider-Man to meet Hardy’s Venom, and they also don’t have to be enemies. There have been many times in the comics where Venom and Spider-Man have worked together. The most well-known example is in the Maximum Carnage storey. With Eddie Brock having wanted to find Spider-Man in his No Way Home appearance, meeting a different one from Holland’s could make this happen.
The two could work together to fight a different villain, like the never-before-used Hobgoblin. It also could work out well, because Garfield’s Peter Parker is the one who makes jokes the most often. If Garfield’s Spider-Man meets up with Hardy’s Spidey in Venom 3, it could be the perfect pay-off for both of them.
