He said that 34 out of 816 patients with acute encephalitis syndrome died in 2019, while 12 out of 396 patients died in 2020.
Yogi also said that Uttar Pradesh will fight the covid-19 (Covid-19) epidemic with this preparedness. He claimed that more tests are done in Uttar Pradesh than in any other state in the country, but the number of covid-19 patients here is the lowest in the population. The chief minister said Swachh Bharat Abhiyan had played an important role in containing the spread of infections and other infectious diseases with the coronavirus.

Giving district-based statistics on Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and Japanese Encephalitis (Japanies Encephalitis), he said Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj and Deoria saw sharp falls in the number of people suffering from these diseases and deaths.
